Westmeston Carpentry & Construction was officially established in 2022, however it's routes go back much further. We have many decades of experience building unique, bespoke and environmentally conscious buildings in Sussex. Dermott, Gus and Luke have been working together since Luke first pushed a wheelbarrow in 2009. Gus first worked with Dermott back in the 90s And Dermott first started up as a carpenter, making custom kitchens in Brighton in 1980. He has been creating some of the most exciting houses of the area ever since.
Over many years we have created many exiting projects of varying styles, mostly around Ditching, Westmeston, East Chiltington, Plumpton and Lewes. We have a reputation for acute attention to detail, design and uncompromising quality.
Carpentry is the core of WCC with Dermott and Luke being master carpenters.
Traditional timber framing, handmade kitchens and cabinetry, all roof pitching and custom made windows, doors and fitted furniture, are all commonplace on our builds.
Gus is our master of all with a deep knowledge of general building, plumbing and heating systems.
We deliberately keep our team small, working with the same subcontractors we know and trust. Believing this is the only way to maintain the best possible results.
Sustainability is always in our mind. With the building industry producing around 10 millions metrics tonnes of carbon a year. Where possible, we always try to use natural fibre insulations like hemp and wood fibre which capture co2 and store it in a building that will then use less energy to stay warm.
Heat pumps and solar panels are also common on our builds.
If you think we might be a good fit for your build, big or small, or would like some more information from us, please email us on info@westmestoncc.co.uk.
